Nowhere to go

I’m already inside

#I honestly believe that Klaus hurts Elena and Katherine so badly is because he loved Tatia so much #and he can’t stand seeing these women with her face #so he breaks them until they’re ruined like he is

….Lol no.

Seriously? You’re going to turn Klaus’ mistreatment and blatant abuse of doppelgangers that he views as OBJECTS into a pity party for him?

No one’s denying he used to love Tatia. But how about you take a step off the woobifying pedestal that you’ve got Klaus on. He hurts Elena and Katherine so badly because they mean nothing to him. They do not even register in his mind as being someone he used to know or care about. He views them as objects that are needed to fulfill a purpose - breaking his curse. It has nothing to do with “not being able to stand seeing women with her face” - it has to do with Klaus believing he is entitled to things and he is entitled to being a full hybrid and he needs these girls to complete that goal.

He is a sadistic narcissist that does not see past anyone but himself. It has nothing to even do with “breaking” them. It has to do with using them as they are meant to be used, in his eyes. He keeps Elena alive and regards her as expensive property once he realizes she is what he needs to make hybrids. She is nothing more than a blood-bag, an object. Klaus killed Katherine’s family because she ran from him and fucked over something he had been planning for 500 years and he went into an insane rage. He even threatened to kill Elijah when he first heard she had escaped. (because again, everything is: klaus klaus klaus. me me me)

Klaus does not go out of his way to try and ruin their lives because, oh, boo hoo, he used to love a girl that looked like them. No, he screws with Katherine and with Elena because he gets off on the control. Alaric!Klaus even taunts Katherine about how he murdered her whole family in season 2. He loves the power, and he loves making them feel powerless. It is his whole game. This is not reserved for just Elena and Katherine, he does this to everyone.

But they are a special case because they are his doppelgangers, they are his property, they are meant to be used as he sees fit. It has nothing to do with Tatia, because in order for it to even have anything to do with her he would need to view Elena and Katherine as something more than objects which he doesn’t.

If anything his lack of regard for Elena and Katherine, women who wear the face of a woman he loved once upon a time, proves how far gone Klaus is from the person he used to be. People change and it’s been a loooong damn time. (and we know next to nothing about his ‘relationship’ with Tatia other than it was a love triangle with Elijah) He is not pining after Tatia a thousand years later and lashing out at women who look like her. He hunted down the doppelgangers because he needed them to serve his own purposes. He does not allow himself to love, he does not allow himself to believe in emotions, because he will not allow himself to be vulnerable and weak.

Klaus is the last person who will be telling you he’s “ruined” because he can barely admit his own faults to himself. He is too selfish to take responsibility for his own actions or for the way he treats the people around him that he actually does care about. So uh, I assure you, he’s not losing sleep over Elena and Katherine and how much he wants to “ruin” them for looking like Tatia, because it never even crosses his mind when he looks at them.

Elena felt like a flame. We were meant to be this way. She could’t remember if it was an old quote of Damon’s or something new he was just barely whispering to her mind now. Like two flames that join and merge into one.

“It’s in the very classical sense of the older, more regal tradition of the vampire - it’s often the older guy and the fascinating, maiden-like beauty. There’s something Dracula about their relationship.” - Daniel Gillies
